NOTESAlthough recording many hits for the Troubadour label in South Africa in the 1950s, this LP was the first full length album by the great Dorothy Masuka. The recording was made and produced in Zimbabwe by Crispin Matema sometime in the early 1980s. Some websites have dated Ingalo as late as 1988, but lobengula, a contributor to inkundla.net, maintains that Jobs' Cobination, a short-lived band formed by Lovemore Majaivana and Fanyana Dube, recorded with Masuka after their first album Istimela was released in 1980. The group soon split-up. Read more about Dorothy Masuka here at afropop.org. |
